I first came into contact nearly three years ago to Oaktree when I was in a very dark place in my life, I was lucky enough when in the job centre to bump into an old school friend who recommended Oaktree as a supported living option, I was a little dubious but at a lost end. That same day, I was welcomed, listened to and housed by Dave and Jenny (my now two best friends). On the journey to where I am today, I have been supported, encouraged through alcohol dependency and no self esteem and help with my personalised needs. I have come on leaps and bounds from where I was and I believe it to be from the all hour support, communal days out building my confidence and going above and beyond any expectations, help with my finances in way of sourcing suitable benefits which I never would have been able to do alone. Though professional boundaries are always in place, I feel almost part of a family, thank you Oaktree, Dave and Jenny for giving me a second chance at life

"I've been living with Jenny and Dave a while now and was shocked how different they are from other HMO's most are just like cattle markets pulling in anyone for the money and not providing and information or support and early turn up. Dave or Jenny or both turn up nearly every day and constantly check on all the people in their houses and help provide their needs with anything from lifts to appointments to help shopping and regular check even when not at the houses. All houses have everything you need fully equipped. I've had a panic and anxiety disorder for some time and since been living under them I now have the confidence to get treatment which I am now and slowly life is getting better and this is the only HMO I've seen or heard of run how they are meant to".
